Tourist Board of Split wrote:
“This year marks the 500th anniversary of the publication of Judita, the first book in the Croatian language, for which the author Marko Marulić earned the title of the father of Croatian literature. "Judita" is the first artistic epic in Croatian literature written in 1501 in the vernacular and published in Venice in 1521. "Judita" was a European bestseller of its time translated into many world languages, and during Marulić's lifetime, it experienced as many as three editions in 18 months. This work testifies to the significant place of Croatian culture in Europe.
The thematic tour of the city of Split was designed for this occasion. The first guided tour will take place on April 22, 2021, and it would be repeated according to interest until April 22, 2022, as long as the year of Marko Marulić lasts.
